UPDATE..
My Keswick studio was acquired by the government in July 2024 and has since been demolished! It was certainly tough to farewell a great space that was not just my creative base but served a number of colleagues. It hosted numerous stills and video shoots.
I am now based in an office space in Gilles Street in the Adelaide CBD which has the capacity to shoot most of my product shoots.
For larger shoots my preferred studio is Cog Creative in Norwood, so rest assured I continue to cater for most of your visual content.

My aim is to demystify and simplify commercial photography. Rather than present a portfolio of my best pictures, I prefer to showcase my work in an industry specific format. After all, my business is about making your business look good.
I have over 30 years of commercial photography experience. My portfolio encapsulates many genres beyond product photography including interior design, architecture, corporate & environmental portraiture and automotive.

About the director
Simon Vaughan is Evolved Images. He began his career in 1987 as an assistant to a great mentor in Steve Keough. Steve ran one of two neighbouring studios in the east of Adelaide, the other being Jug Studios (later Studio 9d) that were widely recognised for producing some of the best work for the ad industry and world class designers. It was an intensely disciplined training ground which involved large format film, cutting edge lighting techniques and many hours in the darkroom.
In 1993 he was approached by the largest prepress company in SA to set up and run the first studio to invest in high end digital imaging. Working in collaboration with a graphic reproduction team at the dawn of digital photography proved a wise decision.
In 1996 he was offered a residency at Blink when Mike Annese proposed creating one of the largest studios in the Adelaide CBD, which Simon went on to lease in 2007 to establish a major rental space known as Silverback Studios. In 2015 he moved Evolved Images to a warehouse on Richmond Road at Keswick which he converted into a well equipped photographic studio. Unfortunately the studio was acquired by government in 2024 and demolished to make way for road widening. Simon now shares an office space in the Adelaide CBD with graphic design company Soup Creative.
